For those who have attended a class with Glenn, or for those who want an intensive refresher to get back to the lathe.
Format of a two-day group class is as follows:
Schedule – 9.15am-5pm
9.30– 11 welcome and short introductions, workshop
11-11.15 short break
1– 2 lunch break (home-cooked lunch)
Classes run from 9.15-5.00 with a break for tea/coffee and a break for a home-cooked lunch.
Practical details: Each turner has a top of the range lathe and tool panel with all necessary tools and chucks. All wood is supplied.
If you wish to bring your own tools please feel free to do so and we will look carefully at sharpening your own tools.
What you will learn:
Learn how to make the most of local materials.
Day 1, a trip to our wood yard, how to process wood from a log, dry it and choose the wood for your finished piece.
On day 2, make a finished piece – we will look at sanding, oiling and getting fine cuts from the tools. Learn how to use negative rake scrapers. Sharpening will be covered throughout the 2 days.

This booking cannot be transferred to another class unless Glenn Lucas can replace your booking – at least one week is needed to fill this position. Class size is small and last minute cancellations will mean that your booking is void and non-transferrable to another day.
